Our Philosophy

Rooted in Tradition,
Baked for Today

At Hearth & Crust, we believe great bread takes time. Our bakers arrive before dawn to stoke the stone ovens and shape each loaf by hand — no shortcuts, no preservatives, just flour, water, salt, and patience.

Founded in 2002 by Elena Marchetti, our bakery has been a cornerstone of Willow Creek Village for over two decades. Every recipe carries a piece of her Italian heritage and a deep respect for the craft.

What Our Customers Say

The sourdough here is genuinely the best I've ever tasted — and I've traveled through half of Europe. There's a depth of flavor that only comes from a well-loved starter and hands that truly care.

I've been coming every Saturday morning for three years now. The olive ciabatta is my ritual — still warm when I pick it up. The team here treats everyone like family.

Their pastries remind me of my grandmother's kitchen in Barcelona — unpretentious, deeply satisfying, and made with ingredients you can taste. The almond croissant is pure heaven.

``` ### Design features The page radiates a warm, handcrafted feel, using a layered hero section with gradient text and textured grain overlay. The design choices lean into the "vintage countryside bakery" vibe while keeping the layout modern and interactive. **Visual & motion highlights** - The hero section combines a radial gradient, a low-opacity background image, and a grain overlay for tactile depth. Gradient text and staggered fade-up animations guide attention naturally. - Card hover effects are elevated with translateY(-8px), scale(1.02), and a growing shadow, while the staggered card-in animation adds rhythm to the featured bakes grid. - Small but intentional details: the floating accent circle behind the about image, the pulsing "Signature" and "Popular" badges, and the subtle eggshell noise texture across the entire page. **Interactive & functional touches** - The testimonial slider auto-rotates with smooth transforms and supports swipe gestures on touch devices. Dots and arrows give users full control. - Animated stat counters count up from zero with an ease-out curve, triggered only once when the section scrolls into view. - Navigation is responsive, with a blurred mobile menu that slides in from the right, and the "Order Ahead" CTA gets a gentle pulse animation to draw clicks.
